Zendesk is hiring an Engineering Manager

Zendesk is looking for an Engineering Manager based in Pune to lead product engineering teams. You will be responsible for managing and inspiring engineers while collaborating with global teams and stakeholders to deliver projects and maintain high code quality standards.

What You'll Do

• Lead a team of 10-12 engineers, providing direction and support throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with leaders across Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, and Design to improve software delivery and service reliability.
• Guide the team through technical challenges, balancing new feature development with system scalability and performance.
• Champion engineering excellence, ensuring best practices in coding, testing, and observability.
• Drive a high-performance culture that prioritizes clarity, ownership, and impact.
• Conduct quality 1:1s with team members focusing on performance, growth, and well-being.

What We're Looking For

• 12+ years of industry experience.
• 3-4 years in a technical leadership or management role leading and mentoring engineers.
• Proficiency in handling teams working on tech stacks like React, Angular, or similar JavaScript MVC/MVP frameworks, and programming languages such as Java or Ruby.
• Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders globally.
• Solid understanding of the agile scrum framework and experience running scrum ceremonies.
• Proven ability to prioritize effectively, balancing short-term objectives with long-term growth strategies.
• A dedication to continual self-development and fostering a learning environment within the team.
