DuckDuckGo is seeking an Engineering Director, Web Platform to lead the team that builds and evolves the core web platform powering our private browsers on Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. You will define the architecture that enables product teams to deliver innovative features while reducing fragmentation and breakage across platforms.
What You'll Do
- Lead and collaborate on high-impact and complex projects from proposal through post-mortem.
- Wrangle vague problems, propose innovative solutions, and execute them with a strong focus on metrics and impact.
- Lead technical teams through periods of rapid growth and scaling.
- Define and drive technical work end-to-end on large-scale C++ codebases.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years experience leading teams of technically strong developers working on large, complex consumer-facing products, desktop in particular.
- Proven leadership experience across multiple consumer-facing products where you've made critical decisions with broad, positive impact.
- 4+ years experience in senior leadership roles (Director, VP) including people management, coaching, and mentoring.
- Proven experience leading technical teams through periods of rapid growth and scaling.
- Direct experience with browsers: Chromium, WebKit, or WebView development.
- Recent experience defining and driving technical work end-to-end on large-scale, modern (C++14 or more recent) C++ codebases.
- Experience developing software for Mobile platforms or Desktop (Android/iOS/Windows).

- Experience with other modern languages such as C#, Swift, Kotlin, or Rust.
