Ardent Eagle Solutions is hiring an Engineering Configuration Manager – Satellite Ground Systems

About the Role

Manages engineering configuration processes for satellite ground systems, ensuring adherence to technical standards, documentation integrity, and lifecycle control across development and deployment phases.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee configuration control processes for satellite ground system components
  • Maintain accurate engineering documentation throughout project lifecycles
  • Coordinate change management activities across engineering disciplines
  • Ensure compliance with technical specifications and regulatory requirements
  • Support integration of configuration management into system development workflows
  • Track and resolve engineering change requests efficiently
  • Collaborate with systems engineers to validate design configurations
  • Manage version control for technical drawings and schematics
  • Facilitate configuration audits and reviews
  • Enforce configuration baselines during system testing phases
  • Interface with quality assurance teams on documentation standards
  • Provide configuration status accounting reports to project leads
  • Assist in resolving discrepancies between design and implementation
  • Ensure traceability from requirements to delivered hardware and software
  • Support certification and accreditation processes with accurate records
  • Develop configuration management plans for new system deployments
  • Monitor configuration deviations and recommend corrective actions
  • Maintain configuration management databases with up-to-date records
  • Train team members on configuration control procedures
  • Work closely with procurement on configuration-impacting vendor changes

Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree in engineering or systems management
  • Experience with space mission operations infrastructure
  • Certification in configuration management
  • Knowledge of model-based systems engineering tools
  • Experience in defense or government contracting
  • Familiarity with DevOps integration in configuration workflows
  • Security clearance at Secret level or higher
  • Experience with automated configuration tracking systems
  • Background in software configuration management
  • Prior work with ground station networks
