Western Digital is looking for a Storage Engineer in QA with a solid foundation in networking to join our dynamic team. You will bring hands-on experience in storage interoperability validation, implementation, and management, with deep knowledge of storage related to NVMe, NVMeOF, and networking paradigms like TCP and RoCE. This role requires a collaborative mindset to work closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring our storage systems are performant and secure.
What You'll Do
- Perform validation activities of firmware and storage subsystems, including automation.
- Validate Storage Servers and Storage Arrays – JBOD, JBOFs, NAS, SAN.
- Install and configure various hardware and software components.
- Perform bug verification and drive issues to resolution.
- Understand Hardware and Software interaction.
- Understand Software development Life Cycle.
What We're Looking For
- B.E / B.Tech /M.E/M.Tech in E.C.E, CSE, or IT.
- Advanced experience in the field of storage/networking/server domain with strong fundamentals.
- Advanced experience in Storage QA involving validation activities of firmware and storage subsystems, including automation.
- Knowledge of Storage Servers, Storage Arrays – JBOD, JBOFs, NAS, SAN validation.
- In-depth working knowledge of SAS, SCSI, and PCIe protocols.
- Solid working knowledge of operating systems: Windows and Linux, including troubleshooting issues.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to achieve results in a fast-moving, dynamic environment.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated and Self-driven.
Nice to Have
- Trace Analysis of SAS/Ethernet/PCIe is a big plus.
- Working knowledge on SSD and debugging skills is a plus.
- White box testing knowledge is a plus.
- Experience with Secure Boot and Secure Firmware Download.
- Experience with Data in Flight Encryption: IPsec (in Transport and Tunnel mode), Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.3.
