Rockwell Automation is looking for an Engineer 1, Test to join our team in Bangalore. You will use product domain knowledge and sound engineering practices to perform embedded firmware test activities for Rockwell automation products. You will report to the Manager, Engineering and follow a hybrid working schedule.
What You'll Do
- Understand and translate requirements, design/functional specifications to define test requirements, and design test cases.
- Participate in reviews for feature requirements. Perform analysis and improvement on existing test cases.
- Develop test ware, test scripts, and implement firmware functional tests based on established guidelines.
- Debug failures, report anomalies.
- Report progress to the team lead and manager, escalating issues on time whenever necessary.
- Work within a project to create test reports.
- Perform analysis and improvement on existing test cases.
- Contribute to test KPI deliverables and perform regression testing whenever necessary.
- Participate in multiple test cycles (from functional to system test) and multiple test types (such as safety test, cyber security test, firmware test).
- Engage in innovation activities to improve our test capabilities using the latest technologies.
What We're Looking For
- A degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of technical experience in testing.
- Hands-on experience in manual testing across different types (hardware, firmware, software).
- Hands-on experience in Test Engineering processes (Agile, continuous integration, waterfall) and methods for test case design and test coverage optimization.
- Experience with test automation tools and frameworks.
- Programming experience in scripting languages, preferably Python.
- Hands-on experience in Ladder programming.
- Hands-on experience with bug/anomaly tracking and evaluation systems.
- Passion for testing and curiosity to explore.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to industrial automation and PLC applications.
- Familiarity with Rockwell products, such as Allen Bradley, I/O's, controller families, panel view/HMI, and RSLogix5000/500 Application Software.
- Experience with test lab development.
- Good written communication skills.
- Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to take ownership of tasks and projects.
- Experience working in different cultures across different countries and in a multicultural environment.
- Experience working with multiple platforms.
