We are seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineer to join Exmark & Spartan Mowers, a part of The Toro Company, within the Technical Operations department for our Precision Irrigation Division. In this role, you will provide technical expertise to support products in the market and drive new product development, working closely with the development team, production, customer support, and supply chain.
What You'll Do
- Maintain design concepts for circuits and systems, involving analog and digital design techniques to interface sensors with microcontrollers.
- Serve as a departmental expert on design-related fields and provide technical consulting to team members.
- Evaluate the feasibility and applicability of newer technologies and methods for existing products and designs.
- Collect and analyze technical information from multiple sources, including engineers, product managers, suppliers, technical documents, equipment operation, and your own tests.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a closely related field. A Computer Science degree will not be considered.
- Experience level aligned to our career ladder: Engineer II: 2 – 4 years, Engineer III: 5-7 years, or Engineer IV: 7+ years.
- Willingness to learn Python, C, and other programming languages as project needs require.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-analysis and resolution skills.
Technical Stack
- Proficiency in C/C++ and familiarity with RTOS environments.
- Strong understanding of hardware interfaces like SPI, I2C, UART, and CAN.
- Printed circuit board design experience, with ORCAD as the preferred tool.
- MCU experience with platforms such as MIMXRT1176AVM8B, STM32U0, MK64FN1M0VLL12, LPC2478FBD208, and STM32F777BIT6.
- Sensor applications: Inductive, current, resistive, magnetometers, acoustic, ultrasonic, accelerometers, and solenoid-based actuators.
- Exposure to data science, Generative AI, AC/DC power conversion, encryption, and security methods.
- Wireless technologies: Cellular 4G_LTE, M2M IoT, 5G, ISM bands (900MHz, 400MHz UHF), BLE, and WiFi HaLow.
