Role Overview

An opportunity exists for a skilled Security and Risk professional with specific experience in the oil & gas sector to join as an Embedded Field Risk Advisor in Libya. This position supports client operations in active oilfields, delivering expert guidance on security protocols, risk management, and personnel safety. The role operates on a rotational basis, allowing professionals to contribute without permanent relocation to Libya.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver tailored security and risk advice to support safe and discreet operations in high-risk oilfield environments.
  • Ensure client employee exposure to risk is systematically identified, assessed, and reduced.
  • Apply and promote industry best practices in security management across field operations.
  • Disseminate critical security updates and operational guidance to all relevant personnel as needed.
  • Maintain daily coordination with local Libya-based advisors to support consistent health, safety, and security standards.
  • Evaluate potential hazards in operational areas and develop actionable prevention and mitigation strategies aligned with company policies.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and security assessments to uphold safety standards at current and new locations.
  • Support the evaluation and refinement of evacuation plans for remote oilfield sites.
  • Continuously assess Emergency Response Procedures (ERPs) based on evolving threat conditions and recommend updates as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience as a Security and Risk consultant, particularly within oil & gas operations.
  • Proven track record in advising on security matters in hostile or complex environments.
  • Experience managing personnel risk and implementing field security protocols in high-risk regions.
  • Ability to conduct thorough site assessments and security audits.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective information sharing across teams.
  • Experience collaborating with security advisors and coordinating multi-location operations.
  • Familiarity with emergency planning, including evacuation and incident response procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Arabic is strongly preferred.

Work Arrangement

This role follows a rotational schedule with no requirement for permanent relocation to Libya. Candidates will operate within the country on a rotational basis, supporting continuous field operations.
