JLL is looking for an Electrical Commissioning Engineer to provide QA/QC and commissioning support for Data Center and Mission Critical construction projects. In this role, you'll work with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders to manage documentation and execute field-based commissioning activities.
What You'll Do
- Provide reliable, timely, and efficient support to the Data Center / Mission Critical team.
- Use independent judgement to plan, prioritize, and organize a diverse workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Apply expertise in electrical equipment/systems installation, startup, pre-functional inspections, acceptance testing, and commissioning.
- Work directly with General Contractors, sub-contractors, inspectors, and others involved with QA/QC and Commissioning program execution.
- Protect JLL’s contractual position and ensure work meets contracted requirements.
- Develop Commissioning Plans and Commissioning Specifications.
- Implement and execute electrical and EPMS QA/QC inspection programs for large, complex critical facility projects.
- Develop inspection and commissioning checklists, test scripts, procedures, and other required documentation.
- Carry out field-based commissioning activities, including site visits and the development/execution of Functional and Integrated Systems Test scripts.
- Perform Commissioning Design Drawing, Specifications, and Submittal Reviews.
- Schedule, lead, and document project Commissioning meetings.
- Write detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Methods-of-Procedures (MOPs).
- Develop and compile project documentation into site/project specific Systems Manuals.
- Use QA/QC and commissioning software applications such as BIM360, CxAlloy, and Facility Grid.
- Develop, review, and evaluate vendor training programs for installed equipment and systems.
- Support all project documentation requirements, accountable for preparation, review, and issuance.
- Perform all field activity components, including scheduling and coordinating JLL and project team members.
What We're Looking For
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant electrical engineering and/or field-testing experience.
- A minimum of 5 years in providing building commissioning and/or construction QA/QC and Commissioning field services.
- Possession of a Commissioning Professional certification from a recognized industry authority.
- Ability to use electrical testing meters and equipment and analyze/report on test results, including Power Quality Meters, thermography, and NETA tests.
- Knowledge and experience in testing Utility transformers, UPS systems, generators, switchgear, ATSs, STSs, Fuel Oil systems, PDUs, EPMS, and other electrical power systems.
- Strong data management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Project, Word, and Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple project schedule inputs into a master schedule and deliver status reports.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and report against contractor schedule updates.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% to client sites across the USA.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Nice to Have
- An engineering or technical degree from an ABET accredited program.
- Prof Eng/PE or PMP designation.
- Experience working in a consultancy or owner organization.
