Tahoe Forest Health System is hiring an EHR Scanning Clerk to handle the critical task of converting patient medical records into digital format. You will be responsible for the scanning and electronic indexing of documents into our Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring our records are accurate and accessible.
What You'll Do
- Perform scanning and indexing within outpatient clinics, the Cancer Center, and other areas as needed.
- Maintain organizational systems to ensure timely completion of all scanning tasks.
- Prioritize work using a first-in, first-out approach unless directed otherwise.
- Scan file packets into the imaging system and match paperwork to the correct patient records.
- Apply appropriate patient identifiers and ensure the quality of all scanned images and data.
- Verify that reports have been reviewed and signed by providers prior to scanning.
- Utilize standardized indexing guidelines and promptly correct any misfiled documentation.
- Troubleshoot and report hardware and software issues to the appropriate parties.
- Train other scanning staff on clinic-specific workflows as needed.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Demonstrate our System Values through performance and behavior, complying with all policies and procedures.
What We're Looking For
- No formal educational requirement is needed, but 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience is required.
Nice to Have
- Experience reading and understanding medical records.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with common medical documents and chart components.
Team & Environment
This role has no supervisory responsibilities, focusing on individual contribution within a supportive team structure.
Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation is $22.78 per hour, with adjustments based on experience (DOE).
