Allianz, a leading global insurer and financial services provider with a legacy since 1890, is seeking an Editor-in-Chief for the ABV Newsrooms. You will lead and coordinate internal communication and editorial processes, shaping the strategic direction of ABV communication. You will hold both professional and disciplinary leadership responsibility for a dedicated team.
What You'll Do
- Strategically evaluate communication initiatives and oversee their deployment across all internal ABV channels, including intranet, newsletters, (digital) live formats, employee events, internal social media, and emails.
- Develop a tailored internal communication strategy and annual communication plan aligned with corporate and business goals.
- Actively shape and strategically develop internal communication channels, such as the intranet, internal social media, newsletters, and employee events.
- Manage internal stakeholders across existing interfaces and expand stakeholder management concerning the newsroom's strategy, vision, and marketing.
- Lead crisis communication efforts, ensuring clear and protective messaging for ABV target audiences during sensitive situations.
- Provide professional and disciplinary leadership for six team members.
What We're Looking For
- Leadership strength: Ability to lead teams and coordinate complex projects in a management role.
- High implementation strength: Motivation and capability to handle both strategic leadership and operational project management.
- Strategic thinking: Experience in long-term planning and implementation of communication strategies, including risk assessment.
- Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal abilities to convey messages clearly and effectively.
- Several years of experience in corporate communication with a focus on internal communication and employee engagement.
- Proven success in managing complex communication and change projects.
- Stakeholder management: Experience in building and strategically nurturing internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Very good German and good English language skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience in building and organizing a communication department.
- Experience working in a newsroom in a standard newsroom role or a comparable internal communications organization.
- Interest in expanding your knowledge in applying new technologies such as artificial intelligence or internal ChatGPT.
Team & Environment
You will provide professional and disciplinary leadership for the newsroom team, directly managing six employees.
