About the Role
The engineer will work on tailings-related projects involving design, analysis, and field support under the guidance of senior staff, contributing to the safe and responsible management of mining waste infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Conduct geotechnical analyses for tailings storage facilities
- Assist in evaluating slope stability and foundation conditions
- Support field investigations and subsurface data collection
- Prepare technical reports and design documentation
- Use software tools for modeling and simulation of tailings systems
- Participate in construction oversight and field reviews
- Collaborate with senior engineers on project deliverables
- Interpret geologic and geotechnical data for design input
- Contribute to risk assessments for tailings structures
- Apply engineering principles to address site-specific challenges
- Review instrumentation data from monitoring systems
- Support compliance with environmental and safety standards
- Engage in peer reviews of technical work products
- Assist in developing construction specifications
- Communicate findings with project teams and clients
- Maintain quality control in engineering deliverables
- Stay current with industry guidelines and best practices
- Participate in site visits and client meetings
- Support emergency preparedness and incident response planning
- Contribute to continuous improvement of technical processes
