About the Role
The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating transportation logistics, managing driver assignments, and maintaining clear communication between clients and field personnel to ensure on-time service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assign driver schedules based on real-time demand
- Communicate effectively with drivers and clients throughout the day
- Track vehicle locations and adjust routes as needed
- Respond promptly to service changes or emergencies
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities
- Ensure compliance with safety and service protocols
- Coordinate pickup and drop-off times efficiently
- Resolve scheduling conflicts quickly and professionally
- Update dispatch software with current job statuses
- Support customer service by providing accurate ETAs
- Manage high-volume communication during peak hours
- Follow established procedures for incident reporting
- Work within PST business hours for consistent coverage
- Maintain professionalism during all interactions
- Optimize resource use to meet service level goals
- Collaborate with team members to improve workflows
- Adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ensure all dispatch actions align with company policies
- Use technology tools to monitor service performance
- Escalate unresolved issues to supervisors when necessary
- Maintain data confidentiality and accuracy
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Stay updated on transportation regulations and guidelines
- Support onboarding of new dispatch team members
