Moog is looking for a Drafter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for graphically evolving new products from initial layout to detailed drawings. You will utilize CAD systems to produce final drawings and coordinate tasks within the Drafting Department to support our Engineering, Sales, and Program Management functions.
What You'll Do
- Communicate with all functional disciplines to discuss design, drawing, and fabrication requirements.
- Graphically evolve new products from layout to drawings, ensuring correctness of proportion and internal component arrangement.
- Produce final drawings independently or with assistance from Design Drafters or Engineers.
- Utilize the Computer Aided Design (CAD) System to produce a variety of drawings required for program completion.
- Support Engineering, Sales, and Program Management for bid and proposal efforts by providing drawings in an expedient manner.
- Organize and plan the number and types of drawings required to represent the design.
- Coordinate tasks within the Drafting Department while being sensitive to schedule requirements and task prioritization.
- Provide estimates on completion dates of assigned tasks.
What We're Looking For
- Associate’s Degree in a technical major, preferably in Mechanical Engineering/Technology.
- 4-7 years of Drafting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of good drawing practices, machine shop practices, part fabrication methods, basic material types, mathematics through descriptive geometry, dimensioning techniques, and geometric tolerancing symbolism.
- General understanding of mechanical hardware design.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical CAD (MCAD) tools.
Nice to Have
- Proficiency with Siemens NX and/or Teamcenter PLM.

Reports to a Drafting Supervisor. This role is part of the Space team within Moog's Space and Defense Group.
