Derex Technologies Inc is looking for a VFX Editor to join DNEG Careers. In this role, you will be responsible for handling all editorial tasks required by a show, working closely with the production team. You'll maintain a thorough knowledge of all cuts, act as the editorial point of contact, and contribute creatively to promotional material.
What You'll Do
- Handle all editorial tasks required by a show.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all cuts, keeping them updated with the latest scans.
- Maintain shot and VFX databases.
- Liaise directly with client editorial and be the editorial point of contact for internal production and artists.
- Assist in running client sessions within DNEG.
- Assist PR and HR teams with promotional material and in-house initiatives.
- Create new showreels highlighting company work on shows.
- Train Editorial Assistants and Assistant VFX Editors, delegating work fairly.
What We're Looking For
- At least 2-3 years experience working in a VFX Editorial Department.
- Demonstrate high level of proficiency in Adobe Premiere.
- Expert understanding of all editorial tools.
- A firm understanding of the VFX process and terminology, LUTS and colour space.
- Good understanding of Film and HD video formats, files, frame rates and resolutions.
- Encoding/transcoding experience, sound understanding of video codecs and file formats.
- Experience using Adobe Media Encoder, Shotgun and 2k playback software (Baselight, Framecycler or RV).
