World Vision International is looking for a DMEAL Officer-Data Analyst & Information Systems Management to play a crucial role in supporting data collection, analysis, and system management for evidence-based decision-making. You will collaborate with teams across the organization to improve data flows and reporting for our programs focused on helping the most vulnerable children overcome poverty.
What You'll Do
- Collect, clean, and organize datasets from multiple sources to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
- Conduct descriptive and comparative analyses, using statistical and spatial techniques like correlation, regression, and GIS mapping, to identify trends and inform project decisions.
- Develop interactive dashboards and visual reports using tools like Power BI or Tableau, creating tailored infographics for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate with technical and program teams to interpret analytical results and translate them into actionable recommendations.
- Support routine data collection from field teams using tools like Kobo and mWater, ensuring timely submission and cross-checking entries for accuracy.
- Assist in importing and uploading data into organizational systems such as Horizon/iMPAQ, GIS software, and other relevant platforms.
- Maintain and update data visualization tools, databases, and system configurations to ensure timely access to project insights and operational reliability.
- Provide first-level troubleshooting and user support for data system errors, connectivity issues, and software malfunctions.
- Document data analysis processes, visualization methods, system configurations, and workflows to ensure reproducibility and institutional memory.
- Support the preparation of routine progress reports, data summaries, and performance dashboards for program monitoring and decision-making.
- Participate in training sessions and support the facilitation of user training to strengthen staff capacity in data entry, reporting, and system utilization.
- Coordinate with external partners, government agencies, and community stakeholders to ensure consistency and accuracy in shared datasets.
- Promote a culture of data-driven decision-making within the team by encouraging knowledge exchange and collaborative problem-solving.
What We're Looking For
- 2-3 years of relevant professional experience.
- A BSc/MSc in Statistics, Mathematics, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
- Commitment to attend and participate in daily devotions and weekly Chapel services.
- Fluent in both Swahili and English languages.
Nice to Have
- Working experience in data analytics, statistics, Design & Monitoring, information technology, Geographical Information Systems, and Remote Sensing.
- Additional knowledge in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, or related fields.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with office automation software and general ICT tools.
- Exposure to statistical analysis software such as R, SPSS, STATA, or SAS; able to run simple tests and analyses under supervision.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker; able to create basic charts and dashboards.
- Basic understanding of data modeling or querying tools (e.g., SQL, PG, IBM tools) and relational databases.
- Introductory knowledge of GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online) and basic experience with image processing tools (e.g., ENVI, ERDAS Imagine).
