CVS Health is looking for a District Support Pharmacist - PT to ensure continuity of care and operational support across district pharmacies. In this role, you will travel to cover scheduled pharmacist shifts, acting as a role model and proxy for Pharmacy Managers to maintain workflow and patient service standards.
What You'll Do
- Travel within the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled.
- Oversee the pharmacy and serve as the Pharmacy Manager's proxy during bench shifts without overlap.
- Manage and improve patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
- Assume Pharmacy Manager's day-to-day duties when serving as the primary pharmacist-on-duty.
- Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing pharmacy workflow procedures.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, collaborating with healthcare teams, and resolving issues.
- Proactively offer and deliver immunizations; engage and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize.
- Support effective management of pharmacy inventory, with a focus on protecting cold chain products.
- Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills through required trainings and CMEs.
- Support pharmacist-delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services where permissible.
- Understand and comply with all relevant federal and state laws, regulations, and CVS Health policies.
What We're Looking For
- Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located.
- Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.
- Ability to travel within a reasonable radius to support market staffing.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe.
- Attention and focus: Ability to concentrate on a task over time and pivot quickly between tasks.
- Customer service and team orientation: Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner.
- Communication skills: Use and understand verbal and written communication; utilize active listening.
- Mathematical reasoning: Ability to use math to solve problems related to prescription dispensing.

- Physical demands: Be mobile and upright for extended periods; lift, scan, and bag items; reach overhead; move fingers repetitively; extend hands and arms; control precision; stoop; close visual acuity; occasionally lift up to 20 lbs; express or exchange ideas by spoken word; receive detailed information through oral communication.
Nice to Have
- 1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
Team & Environment
Works within the district under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager (PM) and Rx District Leader (DL). Scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator (DPC).
