This opportunity involves crafting the technological groundwork for an expanding, purpose-driven platform. You will architect and implement platform services strategically, serving as a senior technical consultant who guides engineering teams, mentors experienced professionals, and ensures architectural decisions support business objectives including compliance, enterprise readiness, and integration capabilities. The role demands hands-on expertise with sophisticated distributed infrastructure, platform services, and cloud architectures while maintaining focus on premium, scalable solutions. Responsibilities: · Construct, refine, and sustain technical architecture for platform services, facilitating enterprise-scale expansion and operational optimization. · Establish architectural frameworks, protocols, and reusable elements to guide engineering teams across services. · Engage with senior leadership to synchronize platform architecture with strategic business vision, compliance mandates, and long-term objectives. · Conduct design evaluations, provide strategic guidance for significant initiatives, and address systemic constraints and technical inefficiencies. · Cultivate and develop senior engineering talent, promoting a culture of excellence and scalable design thinking. · Directly contribute to foundational components, ensuring solutions maintain security, reliability, and maintainability. · Assess and integrate emerging technological innovations to enhance platform performance, scalability, and developer effectiveness. Requirements: · 15+ years of software engineering experience with profound expertise in distributed, cloud-native systems and platform architecture. · Demonstrated success delivering large-scale systems and influencing technical trajectories across multiple teams. · Comprehensive knowledge of platform services including payments, billing, identity, search, and API infrastructures. · Mastery of multiple programming languages and frameworks (Ruby, React, JavaScript, Python, Java, Node.js). · Robust understanding of development methodologies and tooling (Agile, Scrum, CI/CD pipelines, observability systems). · Proven capacity to mentor senior engineers and cultivate technical excellence. · Exceptional communication skills, translating complex technical concepts for diverse stakeholder groups. · Strategic and pragmatic approach, capable of making high-impact decisions amid uncertainty.
