About the Role

Jabil is hiring a Director of Software Development Engineering to contribute to transformative growth within the Intelligent Infrastructure division. You will apply innovative approaches to solve problems in a large-scale software production environment and be responsible for the end-to-end architecture, definition, development, and production deployment of software applications and infrastructure across multiple customers and manufacturing regions.

What You'll Do

  • Attract, hire, onboard, lead, coach, mentor, and inspire the software development team.
  • Ensure execution discipline and engineering rigor are applied to all technical program deliverables.
  • Make key decisions regarding quality and features that impact customer experience.
  • Influence individuals, teams, and executives to deliver programs within schedule, scope, and budget.
  • Understand how technical decisions impact the broader business, factories, and customers to lead to optimized outcomes.
  • Communicate complex issues in simple, actionable terms at all organizational levels.
  • Develop, grow, and maintain healthy interpersonal relationships with peers, team members, leadership, customers, and partners.
  • Establish clear, measurable goals and objectives for individual and team results.
  • Provide operational and development support for manufacturing test software deployed at production facilities.
  • Oversee definition and collaboration on overall test framework, infrastructure, and application architectures.
  • Create and maintain a multi-year roadmap for all software deliverables, major feature releases, and technology inflections.
  • Enable a development framework for creating behavioral and high-level software design specifications.
  • Establish and maintain best practices for high-quality software development and sustaining activities.
  • Contribute to and improve software build methodology, procedures, and environment.

What We're Looking For

  • BS degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 10-15+ years experience in a software development/test capacity with enterprise server, storage, or networking products.
  • 4+ years people management experience.
  • Prior experience directly managing software development teams.
  • Experience managing remote, multi-national, and geographically dispersed development teams.
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices for the complete software development life cycle.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and managing Agile, CI/CD, and SDLC processes.
  • Hands-on expertise in building and maintaining DevOps pipelines and tooling, including Azure DevOps, Docker, and Ansible.
  • Knowledge/expertise in Python, Ruby, BASH, Expect.
  • Linux development experience with a solid understanding of its fundamentals and internal architecture.
  • Well-versed in VMware, Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Solid understanding of large-scale distributed systems in practice, including multi-tier architectures, application security, monitoring, and storage systems.
  • Experience with front-end and back-end Web UI and common web APIs (REST, XML-RPC).
  • Experience with application integration using web services.
  • Prior experience with code versioning tools (Git preferred).
  • Working knowledge of AWS cloud services, including but not limited to AWS Bedrock, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and S3.
  • Domestic and/or International travel, up to 20%, may be required.

Nice to Have

  • MS degree preferred.
  • C, C++, Java experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with Large Language Model (LLM) integration and AI-Ops practices to enhance system automation and business outcomes preferred.
