This position plays a central role in shaping public narratives, driving earned media engagement, and transforming technical outcomes into clear, impactful stories for diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities
You will drive proactive media outreach, identifying timely story opportunities and building trusted relationships with journalists covering climate, sustainability, EU policy, and innovation. Your work will include crafting press materials, preparing leadership for public commentary, and responding strategically to media inquiries.
A core focus will be distilling complex programme results, evaluations, and impact data into accessible narratives. You will highlight meaningful insights from research and field activities, ensuring they resonate with external stakeholders and the broader public.
You will support high-profile communications campaigns, aligning messaging across channels and contributing to articles, opinion pieces, and multimedia content. Your editorial judgment will help maintain consistency and quality in major outputs, while your strategic input will strengthen the organisation’s positioning as a global voice in climate innovation and systems thinking.
Additionally, you will monitor media trends and public discourse, identifying moments for thought leadership and narrative influence. By coordinating messaging across initiatives, you’ll help clarify the organisation’s role and impact in advancing climate solutions.
Qualifications
- Proven background in communications, media relations, or narrative development
- Demonstrated ability to secure coverage in relevant media outlets
- Strong writing and editorial skills, with experience simplifying technical or policy content
- Comfort working with senior leaders and technical experts
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
- Experience in climate, sustainability, innovation, or public policy environments
- Additional European languages are an advantage
- Experience in international or mission-oriented organisations is preferred
