Fluence is hiring a Director of AI Engineering to provide technical and organizational leadership for our AI programs. You will be responsible for setting the strategic direction and ensuring the successful delivery of AI-powered products and features.
What You'll Do
- Define and drive the technical vision and roadmap for AI at Fluence
- Lead, grow, and mentor a high-performing team of AI engineers and researchers
- Own the full lifecycle of AI model development, from research to production deployment
- Establish best practices for AI development, including data pipelines, model training, and MLOps
- Partner with product, data science, and business leaders to align AI initiatives with company goals
- Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and cross-functional dependencies
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years focused on AI/ML systems
- Proven experience building and leading teams of 10+ engineers
- Deep hands-on expertise in machine learning, deep learning frameworks, and modern AI techniques
- Track record of architecting, scaling, and maintaining complex AI systems in production
- Strong business acumen and ability to translate technical capabilities into product strategy
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders
