Responsibilities
- Design and deliver AI and machine learning systems in production environments with hands-on coding involvement
- Lead the complete AI roadmap including priority setting, strategic trade-offs, and timely execution
- Establish benchmarks for model accuracy, evaluation methods, system observability, and operational reliability
- Promote the use of AI-powered development tools to enhance team productivity and development speed
- Utilize tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot to track and optimize pull request efficiency
- Collaborate with platform engineering on data infrastructure, pipelines, and API integrations
- Supervise a remote team of 8 to 10 engineers spanning data and machine learning specialties
- Recruit, mentor, and retain engineering talent while fostering a strong, trust-based remote work environment
- Coordinate with product teams to align roadmap timelines and manage scope decisions
- Engage with customer-facing units to gather and act on feedback about model performance
- Explain AI system capabilities and constraints clearly to business and non-technical partners
- Monitor and improve key model performance indicators through automated improvement workflows
- Develop and maintain comprehensive evaluation systems including regression testing, human review, and A/B experiments
- Oversee processes for gathering, refining, and labeling training data
- Manage end-to-end machine learning operations from experimentation to deployment and ongoing iteration
- Enforce quality standards for AI-driven workflows before they are released into production
