Marriott International is hiring a Director, Marketing Strategy & Performance to lead the company's global Marketing Return on Investment (ROI) program and spearhead high-impact strategic initiatives. You will build and scale best-in-class marketing performance capabilities, advancing a rigorous, insight-driven approach to marketing investment decisions that optimize effectiveness, accelerate growth, and strengthen long-term brand value.
What You'll Do
- Own the vision, design, and execution of Marriott International's marketing measurement framework, including standing up advanced capabilities like marketing mix modeling (MMM), experimentation, and performance analytics.
- Translate complex data into actionable insights to create data-driven guidance for revenue optimization and brand-building strategies.
- Lead change management and champion marketing performance capabilities across the global marketing organization, embedding measurement into planning, investment, and decision-making processes.
- Lead and oversee marketing performance projects, particularly related to marketing mix models.
- Plan and coordinate efforts for identified project initiatives to ensure successful delivery against strategic priorities.
- Build meaningful, actionable insights and reporting based on data to optimize marketing investments and execution.
- Gain alignment and buy-in from senior stakeholders to secure project sponsorship.
- Manage complex stakeholder interactions to drive project success.
- Partner with Analytics and Finance teams and external partners on marketing measurement processes.
- Drive change management and lead the interpretation and implementation of project initiatives with Marketing leaders.
- Demonstrate strong critical thinking skills in project planning and execution.
- Willingly undertake and excel in challenging projects and initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- A 4-year degree from an accredited university in statistics, marketing, business, or a related field.
- Seven or more years of experience in marketing, strategy, or business consultancy/advisory roles.
- A proven track record of managing and executing multiple strategic projects simultaneously and successfully.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to identify needed analyses and conduct basic analyses in tools like Excel, Power BI, or Alteryx.
- Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to excel in a dynamic environment and manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Demonstrated ability to drive and implement change initiatives.
Nice to Have
- An MBA or other relevant graduate degree (e.g., data science, business analytics).
- Knowledge of marketing and media, including trends, analytics and approaches to marketing experiment/pilot design (e.g., matched-market, A/B, pre/post, people-based).
