Vaughan Regional Medical Center / ScionHealth is hiring a Director to oversee all accounting operations. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of our financial statements, driving strategic financial planning, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards. You will be a key partner to executive leadership in a culture dedicated to compassionate patient care and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

Direct all accounting operations including general ledger management, accounts payable, and month-end close processes.
Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and corporate policies.
Lead the development of annual operating budgets, capital planning initiatives, and long-term financial forecasts.
Oversee internal controls and ensure compliance with corporate standards, regulatory requirements, and audit guidelines.
Coordinate external audits and regulatory reviews, implementing corrective actions as needed.
Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses prepared by accounting staff.
Provide financial oversight and guidance to department leaders regarding budget performance and cost management.
Collaborate with finance leadership on reimbursement strategies, cash management, and financial risk mitigation.
Participate in the evaluation of capital projects, vendor contracts, and investment planning initiatives.
Develop, maintain, and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and financial controls.
Hire, train, and manage accounting staff, evaluating performance and supporting professional development.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
Five (5) or more years of progressive accounting experience.
Three (3) or more years of experience in a leadership or management role.

Nice to Have

Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
Prior experience in healthcare finance or hospital accounting.
Experience supporting financial audits, regulatory reporting, and financial system implementations.
