BMW Group is hiring a Digitalization and Controls Automation Coordinator to lead the technical planning of innovation and digitalization initiatives. You will independently manage projects from early concept through series production, maintaining state-of-the-art automation for controls equipment and providing high-level technical support.
What You'll Do
- Drive digitalization projects and maintain process and state-of-the-art automation for controls equipment.
- Independently manage project lifecycle from early concept and design through to series production in an industrialized manner.
- Ensure operability and drive improvements involving cameras, artificial intelligence, IoT devices, RTLS devices, RFID, scanners, patching devices, and servers.
- Enable patching processes, create workflows for testing new ideas, interact with support teams for VM0 Apps, and plan and execute line balancing in systems and end devices.
- Provide level 3 support troubleshooting.
- Manage and steer controls technologies, including firmware/hardware updates, program/logic changes, network configurations, digitalization initiatives, production equipment troubleshooting, new equipment commissioning, and standardization.
- Provide third-level troubleshooting and technical support to achieve agreed targets.
- Handle all delegated topics related to technological and budget planning.
- Support production, including occasional 2nd and 3rd shift or weekend coverage when requested.
- Analyze equipment downtime and faults to initiate and improve preventive maintenance activities and projects.
- Participate as a technical trainer for maintenance staff.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in automation & control theory and Mechatronics, including robots, vision systems, safety equipment/regulations, Siemens PLC, and SCADA systems.
- Proven experience in Artificial Intelligence projects, Machine Learning, and Data analytics.
- Hands-on experience with Cloud Computing Services (e.g., AWS, MS Azure).
- Strong knowledge of Networks and Field Bus, preferably ProfiNet / TCP IP protocols.
- Excellent teamwork, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated long and short-term project management experience in continuous improvement and process analysis.
- Fluent business English.
