Ember is looking for a Digital Communications Intern to join our remote-first team. You will help get Ember's data and policy insights to key audiences, working closely with the digital communications team to produce engaging content and support day-to-day digital operations. In this role, you'll gain practical experience in digital strategy, content creation, and climate communications.
What You'll Do
- Deliver social media plans to promote Ember's reports and schedule targeted posts on relevant channels.
- Support the creation of visuals like carousels, animated charts, and videos using templates in Canva or similar tools.
- Use WordPress to build web pages for our reports.
- Assist with basic website updates and content uploads.
- Help prepare email newsletters and manage subscriber lists.
- Monitor social and media engagement and gather analytics for internal reporting.
- Research digital trends and opportunities to improve outreach in target markets.
What We're Looking For
- Strong written communication skills with an ability to write with clarity and appropriate tone.
- Some experience with content creation, such as social posts, blogs, or student publications.
- Basic design skills with an eye for detail.
- An understanding of how to use and engage people on social media platforms, especially Twitter/X and LinkedIn.
- Organized, curious, and willing to learn.
- An interest in climate and energy.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
Nice to Have
- Basic knowledge of tools like Canva or WordPress.
- Familiarity with climate/energy policy or climate justice narratives.
- Interest in data storytelling or data visualisation.
- Understanding of web design and development.
- Other language skills, especially languages spoken in Asia.

Benefits & Compensation
- Salary: £25,207. Salaries may be adjusted for location but will not be below 75% of this figure.
- We operate a nine-day fortnight giving every other Friday off.
