General Motors is looking for a Device Charging DRE to define requirements and lead the design, analysis, and development of Wireless Charging Components. You will provide technical direction over a Product Development Team and be responsible for technical project management and design release.
What You'll Do
- Lead integration of Component Validation Engineer tasks into the hardware DRE role.
- Create and maintain Interface Control Design (ICD) strategy and templates.
- Develop and maintain commodity-specific documentation.
- Generate and maintain global subsystem/component technical specifications templates (SSTS/CTS).
- Lead resolution of technical issues.
- Close the loop on learnings by updating required information and documenting progress.
- Work cross-functionally within GM, coordinating multiple suppliers.
- Lead and manage supplier resident engineers.
- Support sourcing activities.
- Generate technical solutions for current, new, and major programs.
- Perform complex design analysis.
- Initiate documents to provide engineering authority and maintain math/CAD data.
- Work with engineering functions, suppliers, and plant personnel to implement cost reductions and product improvements.
- Manage supplier timing, run PDT meetings, and ensure part deliveries.
What We're Looking For
- BS in Engineering, Physics, Math, or Computer Science
- 5+ years of related experience
- Knowledge of microcontroller architectures, memory technologies, and programming
- Knowledge of wireless phone technology
- High-level understanding of hardware design and failure modes in electronic modules
- In-depth knowledge of vehicle serial data communications
- Demonstrated proficiency in writing and comprehending software/hardware requirements
- High-level knowledge of software verification/validation processes
- In-depth knowledge of testing and associated tools
- Capability to translate text-based functional requirements into software algorithms and models
- High level of analytical ability for unusual and difficult problems
