HENSOLDT is seeking a Development Engineer Power Electronics to join our Power Engineering & Electrical Safety department in Ulm. In this role, you will be responsible for the hardware design, control, and regulation of power electronics, assemblies, and systems, as well as ensuring the electrical safety of HENSOLDT Sensors GmbH products.
What You'll Do
- Plan, conceptualize, and execute complex development work for low-voltage and high-voltage power supplies and assemblies of all power classes.
- Design, perform circuit simulation, and develop complex modules, assemblies, and systems up to series maturity.
- Perform dimensioning, calculation, and selection of suitable components.
- Create specifications and define system architecture.
- Apply new, reliable technologies in circuit development.
- Integrate and test segments, assemblies, and systems.
- Verify development results and create documentation according to defined process specifications.
- Hand over designs to production and provide ongoing production support.
- Supervise subcontractors and conduct continuous market observation.
What We're Looking For
- An engineering degree or similar qualification in Power Electronics, Technical Electronics, or Communications Engineering.
- Solid expertise in power electronics, including topologies (AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC, AC/AC) and the conversion and control of electrical energy.
- Confident handling of simulation tools for verification and optimization of circuit designs.
- Specific knowledge in developing circuits considering electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) to minimize interference and comply with standards.
- Understanding of PCB layout specifications, especially for high-current and high-frequency applications, to ensure quality and reliability.
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
- A sense of responsibility and a team-oriented work style.
- Negotiation-fluent skills in both German and English, spoken and written.

This is an onsite position based in Ulm.
