Penn State is hiring a Development Assistant for the College of Agricultural Sciences. In this role, you'll provide crucial support to maximize fundraising efforts through prospect and project management, data compilation, and administrative tasks, working within the Division of Development and Alumni Relations (DDAR).
What You'll Do
- Engage in prospect and project management, collect and compile data, and provide administrative support.
- Serve as a liaison between the unit and central DDAR.
- Work collaboratively with development staff and unit liaisons to maximize fundraising efforts and success.
- Articulate Penn State’s needs, ambitions, and values, including diversity, equity, and inclusion, through excellent informal and formal communications.
- Prepare, provide, and review various reports for major gift officers and the senior director of development.
- Support donor tracking and participation and ensure up-to-date database record management.
- Provide assistance in the development of prospect strategies; review monthly pledge reminders.
- Support annual fund-raising goals and functions; assist with annual planning and overseeing goal setting, tracking, and updating the solicitation process.
- Coordinate gift agreements between the university and the donor.
- Create and prepare data and reports, including fundraising progress reports.
- Manage and submit all database list requests; manage coding in database to help identify proper alumni, donor, stewardship, event, engagement activity.
- Lead the process for donor naming opportunities.
- Respond to requests for information as needed.
What We're Looking For
- A General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS) diploma.
- 2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
- A dedication to and understanding of the skills required to build relationships with communities.
- Experience in Microsoft Office 365.
- Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills.
- A proven ability to self-motivate and work both independently and as part of a team.
- A commitment to professional development, learning, and being mentored.

Member of the Division of Development and Alumni Relations (DDAR), reporting to the Assistant Director, Stewardship and working closely with major gift officers, the senior director of development, and other development staff.
