HP is hiring a Design Lead to manage the overall user experience design strategy, ensuring it aligns with company objectives and user needs. You'll lead teams of experienced designers in crafting digital user experiences that seamlessly blend aesthetics and functionality, drive design excellence, and foster a culture of creativity, innovation, and collaboration.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct and ongoing leadership for an organization of multiple subordinate managers and individual contributors creating user experience design solutions.
- Manage headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects and programs, ensuring resources are appropriately allocated and goals are met.
- Engage with program managers, marketing, supply chain, technical leaders, and executives to communicate status, escalate issues, and guide strategic decision-making.
- Manage relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, setting expectations for deliverables, quality, schedules, and costs.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
- Provide people-care management for direct reports, including hiring, performance planning, coaching, and career development.
- Drive organization-wide performance standards, expectations, and practices to support team development.
- Develop a future vision that balances user needs, business objectives, and technical feasibility while demonstrating proper use of HP’s design system.
- Create user experience goals, priorities, and deliverables that align with product milestones and drive adoption of user experience practices.
- Manage relationships across the stakeholder spectrum and support client engagements by contributing to proposals, pitches, and planning.
What We're Looking For
- A four-year or Graduate Degree in Design, Human Factors Engineering, Social Sciences research, or a related discipline, or commensurate work experience.
- 10+ years of job-related experience or 8-10 years of management experience, preferably in design principles, human factors engineering, social sciences research, or a related field.
Nice to Have
- Certified User Experience Professional (CUXP)
