Rive is hiring a Design Engineer for our Editor Team to shape the new tools and workflows designers use to create with Rive. You will define user interactions, implement UI, and contribute to our design system, working closely with software engineers to build a powerful and intuitive editor.
What You'll Do
- Contribute to bringing new features to the Rive Editor — shaping the tools our users interact with daily.
- Iterate on existing tools to expand their feature set and improve the user experience.
- Work alongside software engineers to define and implement how a feature is presented and interacted with by the user.
- Define user workflows that aim to simplify complex tasks, while adhering to our existing patterns.
- Implement the UI while the engineering team implements the API and infrastructure.
- Contribute to the development of a formal design system and general design processes as we scale.
What We're Looking For
- The skills of an experienced Designer who can code, or an Engineer who can design.
- Prior experience with complex product UI.
- Experienced with UI frameworks across any format or language, with a willingness to transfer those skills to Dart/Flutter.
- Passionate about delivering exceptional user experiences, particularly in the context of designer/developer tools.
- Ability to self-manage, with prior experience seeing projects and features through from conception to implementation.
- Experience with modern product design tools, such as Figma.
Nice to Have
- Ideally some familiarity or experience with Rive.
- Prior experience working in a startup or small nimble team.
