We are seeking a DERMS Quality Assurance Lead to spearhead quality assurance activities for our Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems (DERMS) projects. In this role, you will be the key point of contact for understanding utility client needs and ensuring our solutions effectively address the impacts of DERs on distribution systems.

What You'll Do

Engage with utility clients to understand the impacts of distributed energy resources (DERs) and provide effective solutions.
Collaborate with clients to grasp their business needs and align the solution accordingly.
Participate in the Requirements Management phase to ensure traceable requirements.
Define success criteria and author Master Test Plans and Test Strategies.
Ensure test strategies incorporate current business processes.
Represent the QA function in internal initiatives and communicate project status.
Lead all testing activities for assigned projects.
Estimate and communicate quality assurance effort.
Identify and partner with cross-functional teams for all necessary testing levels.
Identify, mitigate, and drive product issues and risks to resolution.
Analyze user story requirements and validate their testability.
Log defect reports and perform retesting of defects.
Communicate test progress and results clearly.
Collaborate with the Service Engineering development lead during the development cycle.
Respond to client inquiries, bugs, and product ideas and file tickets.
Perform use case and client-specific testing runs and lead factory and site acceptance testing.
Define the user acceptance testing process, test cases, and progress metrics.

What We're Looking For

A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a similar program, with a focus on power systems, or equivalent relevant experience.
10+ years of Quality Assurance testing experience with a solid understanding of testing tools.
Experience testing Cloud/Web-based and/or client-server applications and systems.
Hands-on experience with test automation and automated testing tools.
Experience with performance testing practices.
Exceptional customer engagement, presentation, crisis management, and communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with team members to develop and enhance deliverables.
Capacity to continuously improve team processes to ensure high-quality information.
Experience developing customer-focused application and data solutions based on market needs.
Experience developing estimates, Statements of Work (SOWs), and proposals from a QA perspective.
Excellent test design and documentation skills.
Ability to exercise independent judgment, multi-task, and prioritize effectively.
Familiarity with emerging energy industry trends and implications for utility clients in DER management, distribution planning, IT, SCADA, and asset management.
Ability to quickly understand and analyze approaches and configure solutions to client needs.
Ability to drill down to details and creatively solve complex problems.
A strong written and verbal communication style for sharing complex technical topics.
A client-focused approach with the ability to create powerful user stories detailing client needs.
A genuine interest in new tools and technology and the ability to learn new software quickly.
