State of Michigan, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) is hiring a Departmental Analyst

This position supports the Program and Support Unit by enhancing operational effectiveness through quality assurance, training coordination, and performance evaluation. The analyst will work closely with teams across the bureau to identify ways to improve service delivery and streamline processes that impact customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

Requirements vary by classification level. For Departmental Analyst 9-P11, a bachelor’s degree is required. Departmental Analyst 10 requires one year of professional experience, while P11 requires two years, including one year at an intermediate level in state service. Alternative pathways include combinations of experience in ECP Group One or Group Three classifications, or qualifying military service.

Applicants must submit a cover letter, detailed resume, and official transcripts. Transcripts must show degree conferral and be from a CHEA-recognized institution. Those with foreign degrees must provide a credential evaluation unless the degree is CHEA-recognized. Military experience may substitute for education with proper documentation such as a DD214.

Work Environment

This role operates under a hybrid model, allowing remote work on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, with required onsite presence on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. A secure, dedicated workspace and reliable internet connection meeting minimum speed requirements are mandatory for remote days. Work must be performed within Michigan, and relocation is required for out-of-state applicants prior to appointment.
