MD Anderson Cancer Center is hiring a Department Chair to lead the Department of Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy. You will establish its vision, guide faculty development, and oversee all operations, including patient care, research, finance, and strategic planning.
What You'll Do
- Establish the vision for, guide the development of faculty in, and oversee all operations and functions in the department.
- Provide leadership and assume full responsibility for all areas of the department, including direct patient care; basic, translational, and clinical research; faculty development and evaluation; integration of educational programs; finance and budgeting; and departmental strategic planning.
- Inspire professional growth by ensuring career development opportunities and mentorship for department faculty and trainees.
- Foster a positive work environment that emphasizes collaboration, collegiality and wellness for all.
- Represent the department, division and institution in local, regional, state, and national matters.
What We're Looking For
- M.D. or equivalent degree
- Board certification in Internal Medicine or Hematology/Oncology
- Eligible for unrestricted Texas medical licensure
- 10 years of experience post clinical degree
- Demonstration of clinical excellence and performance
- Administrative experience at a departmental or institutional level
- Proven track record of successful and independent clinical or translational research and grant or protocol funding
- Consistent record of contributions to education or training and to mentoring of trainees, faculty, or staff
- Ability to function effectively in a matrix organization characterized by complex intra- and inter- disciplinary relationships
Nice to Have
- Progressive leadership experience in an academic setting, preferred experience in an oncologic setting

The department is part of the Division of Cancer Medicine and the Chair reports to the Division Head.
