About the Role
The technician will deploy and service DC power systems within telecom environments, performing installations, diagnostics, and repairs to ensure uninterrupted operation of network equipment.
Responsibilities
- Install and configure DC power systems at telecom sites
- Perform routine maintenance on power units and backup systems
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults in power distribution equipment
- Verify system performance using technical test instruments
- Follow safety protocols during high-voltage operations
- Document work performed and update service records
- Respond to emergency outages and power failures
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes and industry standards
- Coordinate with network engineers and site managers
- Handle battery string installations and replacements
- Inspect grounding and bonding systems for integrity
- Support upgrades to existing power infrastructure
- Operate lifts and ladders to access elevated equipment
- Manage inventory of spare parts and tools
- Adhere to site-specific access procedures and security policies
- Complete work orders within scheduled timelines
- Provide technical feedback for system improvements
- Work in confined spaces and elevated platforms when required
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at job sites
- Follow environmental guidelines for battery disposal
- Support commissioning of newly installed power systems
- Assist in training junior technicians
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals
- Report safety hazards and equipment deficiencies
