Role OverviewWork as a DC Power Telecom Technician Level II to support the setup, servicing, and upkeep of DC power and telecommunications systems in central offices, data centers, substations, and outdoor plant locations. You'll operate under the direction of senior staff, ensuring all work meets technical standards and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Help install, test, and activate DC power and telecom hardware
- Carry out battery string additions and removals under supervision
- Support changes to live circuits and equipment with precision
- Assist in connecting and disconnecting circuits on DC power distribution units
- Set up auxiliary frames, relay racks, and supporting infrastructure
- Review and apply technical schematics, specs, and work directives
- Follow documented procedures (SMOPs/DMOPs) during maintenance and system transitions
- Keep accurate records, logs, and completion reports
- Support routine DC system audits, preventive maintenance, and battery inspections
- Keep workspaces orderly, safe, and compliant with site rules
- Report progress, delays, or issues to supervisors promptly
- Assist senior technicians during complex operations
- Engage in on-site training to grow technical expertise
- Follow all safety policies and customer-specific site requirements
- Deliver reliable, professional service in every assignment
Qualifications
Required
- 2–4 years of field experience in DC power, telecom, or related technical installations
- Familiarity with DC power systems, batteries, and distribution components
- Ability to interpret technical diagrams and written instructions
- Strong focus on accuracy and workplace safety
- Capable of working both independently and collaboratively
- Valid driver’s license
- U.S. citizenship required
Preferred
- OSHA 10 certification, or willingness to obtain it
