Hexagon is looking for a Database Consultant to join our Delivery Excellence team within the ALI Americas group. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing Oracle-based database solutions across hybrid cloud environments to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance services for our Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement Oracle database solutions in AWS environments, focusing on scalability, security, and performance.
- Administer and optimize Oracle databases running on Oracle Linux, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
- Develop and maintain database automation scripts and utilities using PL/SQL, Python, and shell scripting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align database architecture with application and infrastructure strategies.
- Define and enforce database standards, policies, and best practices.
- Monitor and tune database performance, manage capacity planning, and implement proactive maintenance strategies.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members and peers.
What We're Looking For
- Extensive experience with Oracle Database administration and engineering in enterprise environments.
- Strong proficiency in Oracle Linux and related system administration tasks.
- Proficiency in PL/SQL, Python, and scripting for automation and data processing.
- Solid understanding of database security, backup/recovery, and high availability architectures.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal).
Nice to Have
- Oracle certifications.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native database services in AWS and Azure.
- Proficiency in SQL Server.
- Proficiency in MongoDB.
