Design, implement, and optimize Oracle-based database solutions in hybrid cloud environments, emphasizing scalability, security, and performance across AWS and on-premises platforms. Focus on automation, high availability, and alignment with infrastructure and application strategies.
Responsibilities
- Architect and deploy Oracle database solutions in AWS with attention to performance, security, and scalability.
- Manage and optimize Oracle databases on Oracle Linux, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery preparedness.
- Create and maintain automation scripts and tools using PL/SQL, Python, and shell scripting.
- Work with cross-functional teams to integrate database design with broader infrastructure and application goals.
- Establish and uphold database standards, policies, and operational best practices.
- Monitor system performance, conduct tuning, manage capacity planning, and execute proactive maintenance.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior staff and peers.
Requirements
- Proven experience administering and engineering Oracle Databases in large-scale enterprise settings.
- Strong skills in Oracle Linux and associated system administration tasks.
- Proficiency in automation and data processing using PL/SQL, Python, and scripting languages.
- Solid knowledge of database security, backup and recovery procedures, and high availability architectures.
- Excellent communication abilities with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline; Oracle certifications are a plus.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
Nice to Have
- Direct experience with cloud database services in AWS and Azure.
- Familiarity with SQL Server is highly desirable.
- Experience with MongoDB is highly desirable.
