KBR Services is hiring a Data Scientist for our Manuals Support team, which directly supports the TRICARE benefits program at the Defense Health Agency. In this role, you will analyze large-scale healthcare data to influence the direction of the TRICARE program, using insights and forecasts to affect healthcare coverage policy.
What You'll Do
- Review, analyze, and provide oversight of large-scale healthcare datasets to ensure TRICARE Manuals are informed by accurate and relevant data.
- Apply data-driven and analytical methodologies to meet client requirements and support evidence-based decision-making.
- Conduct analyses that consider existing performance, risk, and attribution methodologies within the TRICARE Manuals Application.
- Evaluate healthcare arrangements in the private care sector as they relate to TRICARE program requirements.
- Perform detailed analysis of contractor proposals, beneficiary populations, medical loss ratios (MLRs), capitation rates, bundled payment models, and provider readiness.
- Provide technical and analytical expertise to support the evaluation, implementation, and performance monitoring of pilot programs and demonstration initiatives.
- Translate complex analytical findings into actionable insights to inform policy, program performance, and operational improvements.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of related work experience. In lieu of a degree, an additional 8 years of experience can be substituted.
- Ability to obtain a US Government Secret Clearance.
- CompTIA Security+ Certification or equivalent within 90 days of offer.
Nice to Have
- Ability to develop analytic plans for large datasets to make accurate recommendations for innovations, pilots, and demonstrations.
- Forecasting and estimation trend experience related to healthcare populations to inform updates to Healthcare Manuals.
- Ability to critically review proposals, contract requirements, legislation, and policies to ensure statistical techniques are valid for inclusion in manuals.
- Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methods to develop data collection tools and improve program operations.
- Mastery of qualitative and quantitative techniques to conduct analysis of health care delivery systems, including problem identification, operations analysis, and cost-benefit analysis.
- Knowledge of health care delivery systems, hospital administration operations, health plans, and the configuration of hospital data.
- Thorough knowledge of management principles, organizational theory, and procedures to plan and conduct studies.
- Written and oral communication skills to present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

You will be part of the Manuals Support team supporting the TRICARE benefits program at the Defense Health Agency.

- Salary range: $112,700.00 - $169,000.00.
