Netflix is looking for a Data Scientist (L5) to join the Promotional Media Measurement and Operations team. This senior role focuses on analyzing promotional artwork, trailers, and synopses for Netflix’s Emerging Experiences (Live, Games, Mobile) to understand and improve member engagement. You will be a thought leader, building conceptual frameworks and guiding partners in new content domains.
What You'll Do
- Partner with cross-functional business partners to understand Emerging Experiences and the role of promotional media.
- Conduct exploratory analysis to build conceptual frameworks for new content types and member interactions.
- Execute and analyze experiments and/or develop causal inference and machine learning models to identify drivers of positive member outcomes from promotional assets.
- Develop metrics and models to guide partners on promotional asset creation and deployment for Emerging Experiences.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with stakeholders and fellow data scientists/analytics engineers in a fast-paced environment.
- Serve as a key thought partner for leaders in the Emerging Experiences space.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of work experience in relevant data science roles.
- Expertise in statistical methods, notably regression analysis, forecasting, causal inference, and experimentation.
- Highly proficient programming in SQL and Python/R.
- Comfortable and effective in ambiguous problem spaces; ability to own and drive projects with minimal oversight.
- Exceptional written and oral communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Enthusiasm about and compatibility with Netflix culture.
Nice to Have
- Masters or Ph.D. degree in a quantitative or computational field (statistics, computer science, mathematics, economics, political science, engineering, physics, etc.).

- Salary: $150,000 - $750,000 + equity: Option to receive part of compensation as stock options.
