About the Role

Oracle America, Inc. is looking for a Data Scientist to design, develop, and program methods for analyzing big data sources to generate actionable insights and solutions. You will join a team focused on transforming data into business value.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, and program methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured big data sources.
  • Generate actionable insights and solutions for client services and product enhancement.
  • Interact with product and service teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments.
  • Develop and code software programs, algorithms, and automated processes to cleanse, integrate, and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources.
  • Identify meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources.
  • Interpret and communicate insights and findings from analysis and experiments to product, service, and business managers.

What We're Looking For

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems or a related technical field.
  • 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a Data Scientist-related occupation.
  • Proficiency in Java and Python.
  • Experience with REST APIs and Microservices.
  • Big Data experience including: HiveSQL, Spark, Elastic Cache, and Redis.
  • Familiarity with Agile Development and Test Driven Development using Junit and Selenium.
  • Strong understanding of Data Structures.
  • Experience with Databases SQL and NoSQL.
  • Knowledge of Distributed Systems and cloud platforms (OCI).
