Premera, a healthcare leader recognized on America's Dream Employers list, is looking for an AI/Data Scientist IV to apply advanced AI and machine learning skills to challenging healthcare problems. In this role, you will design, develop, and deploy AI solutions with measurable impact, conceptualizing AI-enabled options and collaborating across the organization to bring them to life.
What You'll Do
- Develop and tune generative/agentic AI solutions for complex healthcare problems, establishing comprehensive experiment tracking.
- Design and implement complex agentic workflows utilizing AI agents for autonomous task execution.
- Research, design, build, and validate complex or novel machine learning models, managing the complete model lifecycle.
- Consult with senior and executive business leaders to scope, model, and recommend AI/ML solutions.
- Research, recommend, and apply causal techniques to estimate treatment effects and quantify business benefits.
- Participate in code peer reviews, quality assurance testing, and troubleshooting.
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert to establish best practices and coach the team.
- Maintain regular contact with customers throughout the development cycle to ensure implementation meets their needs.
- Lead analytics projects applying a working knowledge of Agile and SCRUM methodologies.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Programming, Data Science, or a similar quantitative field.
- 8+ years of experience in quantitative analytics, programming, data engineering, or data science.
Nice to Have
- Master’s/PhD Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science or a similar quantitative field.
- 2+ years of experience developing solutions using language and reasoning models, with familiarity in agentic frameworks and knowledge graphs.
- 5+ years of experience developing and optimizing ML solutions using Python’s core data science stack (NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, scikit-learn).
- Experience with open-source environments.
- 3+ years of experience with ML lifecycles in production contexts including metrics definition, drift monitoring, and automated retraining.
- A strong track record of using quantitative approaches including statistics and machine learning to solve analytical problems.
