The University of Pittsburgh is hiring a Data Scientist III to play a lead role in an NIH-funded research project focused on cardiometabolic health in Pacific Islander populations. You will be responsible for maintaining core data workflows and contributing to integrative analyses.
What You'll Do
- Lead and maintain lipidomics data processing and quality control workflows.
- Contribute to genomic, structural variant, and integrative multi-omics analyses.
- Communicate with investigators and lipidomics laboratory staff to facilitate project progress.
- Participate in regular research team meetings to share progress updates and data interpretation.
- Support research products, including grant proposals, scientific presentations, and manuscripts.
- Oversee large, complex data sets and utilize advanced programming methods and statistical software for raw data extraction, aggregation, and analysis.
- Create statistical reports and assist with manuscripts, grants, and regulatory submissions.
- Maintain data infrastructure and track data assets. Adhere to all protocols.
What We're Looking For
- Experience with lipidomics vendor software or preprocessing tools (e.g., LipidSearch, MS-DIAL, XCMS, or similar).
- Familiarity with genome-wide genotype / structural variant datasets.
- Experience with multi-omics or integrative analysis.
- Experience contributing to manuscripts or collaborative research projects.
