StubHub is hiring a Data Science Manager

StubHub is seeking a Data Science Manager to lead our growing team covering a wide range of data science disciplines. You will convert long-term strategic business goals into tangible machine learning projects, while fostering the technical and personal growth of team members and shaping the vision of the Data Science practice.

What You'll Do

• Scope and plan technical projects.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders across the business, executives, and the data team.
• Provide technical review and architecture oversight.
• Handle recruitment and end-to-end talent development, including performance reviews and promotion recommendations.
• Surface infrastructure needs and onboard solutions.
• Plan team structure and growth as investment in ML, especially generative AI, increases.
• Establish new pockets of deep technical expertise, such as causal inference and graph ML.
• Advocate for best-in-class ML tooling and platform.
• Widen the reach of data science company-wide.

What We're Looking For

• 8 - 10 years of relevant machine learning/data science experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• 8 - 10 years of experience managing high-performance data science teams.
• Strong programming and analytical ability with expertise in SQL and Python (TensorFlow, scipy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, statsmodels).
• Experience with modern workflow orchestration used in machine learning, such as Metaflow, ZenFlow, or Airflow.

Nice to Have

• Worked at a consumer tech company.
• Experience with GenAI, LLM, or agentic workflows in a production setting.
• Hands-on experience with graph-based machine learning and recommendation systems.

Team & Environment

The team is currently 6 members, ranging from entry-level Data Scientists to Staff+, and is part of the broader StubHub Data organization. You will report to a senior leader on the Data Science team.
