About the Role

Turquoise Health is looking for a driven Data Science Engineer to join our team. You will help eliminate the financial complexity of healthcare by building the data solutions that empower our internal teams and external stakeholders. What You'll Do

  • Work cross-functionally with Product and subject matter experts to conceptualize, prototype, and build data solutions.
  • Connect disparate datasets (e.g., claims, contract rates, demographics data) to empower internal and external stakeholders.
  • Apply evolving data science techniques and toolkits to your analyses and communicate results via reports and visualizations.
  • Contribute to building, maintaining, and testing data pipelines.
  • Draft internal and external technical documentation.
  • Seek and prioritize technical and product feedback from internal customers.
  • Iterate quickly with an eye towards value.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience/knowledge.
  • 2+ years of experience developing data models, pipelines, and analytical solutions using Python and SQL.
  • Strong grasp of data architecture and engineering practices, including ETL/ELT workflows, orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt), and cloud-based storage (e.g., S3, Redshift).
  • Solid understanding of analytics and machine learning fundamentals.
  • Expert communication and visualization of complex data insights for clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on evolving business needs and independent problem-solving.
  • Comfortable working remotely in a collaborative, technical team.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web frameworks.
  • Revenue cycle, healthcare payments and/or medical billing experience.

Technical Stack

  • Python, SQL, ETL/ELT, Airflow, dbt, S3, Redshift, RESTful APIs
