Encora is hiring a hands-on Data Engineering Lead responsible for the design, development, and operation of high-performance, scalable data platforms. You will provide technical leadership in data technology while managing and developing an international data engineering team.
What You'll Do
- Lead, direct, and manage the Data Engineering Team’s strategic, tactical, and operational activities.
- Coordinate and actively participate in all Data Engineering projects, including requirements gathering, resource allocation, design, development, and status reporting.
- Collaborate closely with other teams including Product Development, Project Management, Front-End, Back-End, Quality Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure, and Customer Service.
- Design, develop, and maintain data technology strategy and architecture, leading other engineers by example.
- Help develop, maintain, and enforce software development tools and standards, and conduct regular design and code reviews.
What We're Looking For
- Expert-level skills architecting, designing, developing, and supporting complex, scalable data architectures based primarily on PostgreSQL and to a lesser extent, SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL.
- Experience in query optimization, performance tuning, ETL data processing pipelines, Business Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Big Data.
- Experience with cloud-based data technology solutions including AWS RDS, RedShift, Athena, and Elasticsearch.
- Experience leading, building, and managing teams with decision-making responsibilities.
- Experience with the Agile Development Process and related tools.
- Strong experience with CI/CD Tools and Systems such as Jenkins, Hudson, GitLab, and GitHub.
Nice to Have
- Experience with NoSQL Technologies such as MongoDB.
