Atrato is hiring a Junior Data Engineer to join our Data team. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary group to ensure data flows are correct, reliable, and ready to drive business decisions, analysis, and models. As a fintech startup focused on making products and services more accessible in Latin America, we operate in an accelerated growth environment where you will have direct responsibility over production data pipelines while receiving guidance from senior team members.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust data pipelines in production environments.
- Automate data ingestion, cleaning, and transformation processes.
- Create and document data structures that serve as a reliable source for analysis and modeling teams.
- Participate in code reviews and data architecture decisions.
- Monitor and maintain data quality and availability.
- Learn and grow within the team, proposing improvements and taking progressive ownership of projects.
What We're Looking For
- 1 to 2 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in similar roles working with production data.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to prioritize, meet objectives, and adapt to changes in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge and experience with modern data stack tools.
- Advanced SQL.
- Python for transformation scripts, automation, or APIs.
- Docker.
- AWS (S3, Lambda, Redshift, etc.).
- Fivetran or similar data ingestion tools.
- Git and GitHub.
- Data modeling (data marts, Kimball/Inmon/OBT schemas).
- Data Warehouses (Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery).
- Compliance with company information security policies and procedures.
Nice to Have
- Experience writing DAGs in Airflow or managing programmatic pipelines.
- Experience collaborating with BI, Product, or Data Science teams.
