Cognizant is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to own the delivery of technologically advanced and cost-effective data solutions aligned with client business needs. In this role, you will have end-to-end responsibility for design, development, and implementation in an agile setting.
What You'll Do
- Understand source-to-target mapping from the technical lead.
- Develop complex ETL and database scripts for Migration framework.
- Deploy changes across environments using GitHub.
- Help create low-level Migration design documents.
- Debug issues in Guidewire PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter, and Contact Manager and provide solutions.
- Identify, debug, and propose enhancements or fixes for code issues.
- Actively collaborate with the project team, providing updates on progress and problem resolutions.
- Monitor production jobs to ensure error-free completion.
What We're Looking For
- 12 years of design and build experience in Data Warehousing, Data Modelling, DataHub, SAP BODS Data Services, SSIS, SQL Server, and DevSecOps.
- Hands-on experience with Python and InfoCenter reporting.
- Strong understanding of the Guidewire policy and claims data model.
- Excellent hands-on experience in SQL.
- Excellent experience in designing workflows in SSIS.
- Excellent experience in Azure cloud.
- Excellent hands-on experience in DevSecOps deployment pipeline.
- Extensive experience in data transformation and data modelling.
- Strong sense of ownership and responsibility for the quality of outcomes.
- Written and spoken communication skills sufficient to understand requirements and communicate complex concepts.
- Decision-making and leadership ability.
- Ability to manage a team of 8-10 developers.
- Experience in shell scripting.
- Demonstrated expertise in data cleaning using SCD-Type 1 and Type 2 methodologies.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Team player with a collaborative approach and excellent communication skills.
