About the Role
The role involves developing and managing scalable data solutions to support analytical needs within a secure environment. The engineer will work with structured and unstructured data sources, ensuring data accuracy, accessibility, and compliance with security standards.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement data pipelines for large-scale datasets
- Maintain and optimize database systems for performance and reliability
- Ensure data integrity and consistency across multiple platforms
- Collaborate with analysts and engineers to understand data requirements
- Develop ETL processes using modern data integration tools
- Support data governance and metadata management practices
- Troubleshoot and resolve data flow issues promptly
- Work within secure environments adhering to compliance protocols
- Document data architectures and system workflows
- Integrate data from disparate sources into unified systems
- Apply version control to data pipeline codebases
- Monitor data system health and performance metrics
- Participate in agile development cycles and sprint planning
- Support deployment of data solutions in production environments
- Contribute to data model design and schema evolution
- Use scripting languages to automate routine data tasks
- Ensure solutions meet DoD security clearance requirements
- Work with cloud-based data platforms and services
- Implement data validation and quality assurance checks
- Assist in migration of legacy data systems to modern architectures
Nice to Have
- Security+ or other DoD-approved certification
- Experience with geospatial data systems
- Knowledge of Kubernetes or orchestration tools
- Background in defense or government contracting
