Datatonic is looking for a Data Engineer to work across a wide range of projects, helping clients unlock the full potential of the Modern Data Stack. You’ll bring expertise in key technologies and apply them to solve real client challenges, combining strong technical skills with a client-focused mindset.
What You'll Do
- Build strong client relationships and establish an outstanding reputation for trust and delivery.
- Supervise and guide team members, focusing on higher-level concepts while enabling others to succeed.
- Act as a mentor, becoming the “go-to teammate” within your team for support and expertise.
- Scope and plan work effectively, breaking it down into clear, achievable milestones.
- Contribute actively to knowledge sharing through our internal Knowledge Base, technical tutorials, and analytics resources.
- Drive innovation by leading the adoption of new technologies and methodologies when needed.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in a data-focused role (Data Engineer, Data Analyst, Analytics Engineer, etc.)
- Hands-on expertise with dbt, a modern data warehouse such as Snowflake or BigQuery, and Kimball modeling
- Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives and clients simultaneously with ease
- Proficiency in analytical SQL, with a clear understanding of the difference between SQL that simply works and SQL that performs efficiently
- Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions that deliver impact
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas in simple terms to diverse audiences
- Capacity to manage multiple concurrent engagements and keep stakeholders aligned

Nice to Have
- dbt Developer certification
- Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer certification
- Snowflake SnowPro certification
- Experience with Scrum methodology
