Decathlon Digital is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Observability team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and optimizing the data models that form the foundation of our data observability platform, enabling critical analysis of data usage, quality, and maturity across the company's data assets.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and industrialize complex data models to enable analysis of usage, quality, and maturity of the company's data assets.
- Ensure the resilience and operational excellence of data pipelines.
- Participate in implementing automated data governance through data contracts and the data cockpit.
- Proactively analyze needs and understand the daily life of users and their stakeholders.
- Act as an expert to guide data teams in the correct and effective use of observability products.
- Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of working methods (mob programming, TDD, robust documentation) to elevate the team's technical standards.
- Implement monitoring and automation solutions to significantly reduce manual workload and improve overall team efficiency.
What We're Looking For
- Advanced mastery of SQL for querying, manipulating, and optimizing complex datasets.
- Advanced mastery of development in Python (PySpark) and/or other programming languages.
- Practical experience with cloud-based data platforms.
- Good understanding of the data lifecycle and dimensional modeling principles (Kimball, OBT) as well as concepts of data lineage, data governance, and data contracts.
- In-depth knowledge of version control systems and continuous integration (Git/Github).
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with a strong sense of service and a user-centric approach following a Product logic.
- Thrive in an agile and collaborative work environment (mob programming, code reviews).
- Mastery of English to interact easily with international teams and partners.
Nice to Have
- Practical experience with Databricks, EMR, and Airflow is a significant asset.
