Join Novo Nordisk as a Data Engineer within our R&D Data Platforms & Integrations team. You will be responsible for building a unified data foundation to enable AI and scientific advancement, designing and maintaining critical data pipelines, and establishing a modern data lake architecture.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop and maintain data pipelines and analytics solutions
- Design and build a foundational platform for a modern data lake architecture, optimising it for scalability, flexibility, and performance
- Develop automated tests to ensure data accuracy and quality
- Continuously improve the platform to boost developer productivity and act as an internal expert and sparring partner on how the organisation gets the most out of Databricks
- Leverage your expertise in cloud development to design and implement innovative digital solutions focused on delivering business insights and patient care in real time
What We're Looking For
- Educational background in Computer Science and Software Development
- Strong proficiency in Python programming
- Extensive experience with Databricks on Azure or AWS
- Experience in using Spark, including Spark SQL and understanding of how to optimize Spark performance
- Familiarity with DevOps practices — CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, automated testing
- Fluent in English both in writing and spoken
- Open to feedback to grow new soft skills
- Works independently and attends to deadlines
Nice to Have
- Exposure to data mesh or domain-oriented data architecture
- Experience working with OMOP or other clinical data standards
- Working in pharma domain or other regulated area is considered an advantage
